I didn't realize when I first signed the guest book that I would discover a whole lot of people that I knew that signed too. It sure feels good and this has brought back a lot of memories. I too grew up in Elliot Lake from 1956 until 1971. Everyone in the old days knew my Dad Joe and Mom just passed away Christmas Eve 2000. If anyone out there remembers my family send me a line. Love to hear from old acquaintances, school chums etc.

This is a great page but I would like more help please- I am trying to find inforamtion and photos of Elliot Lake (mainly the city center)during the 1950s and the way it looks today. It is for my nana who lived in Canada during that 1950s' for 12 years before she returned home to Scotland. First of all,what a great site.A real window on your community.My wife and I are probably moving to EL in a years time and this site has been invaluable in helping us with links to real estate sites, local busines and many of the activities that go on in town. We have been able to answer most questions just by browsing your site. I do have one small question I have not been able to answer tho-is highspeed cable or phone internet service available in EL. I have very fond memories of Elliot Lake. I was a junior forest ranger there at the provincial park north of the city in 1970. We used to come into Elliot Lake and I really liked the town and the people. I worked with a lot of different people from all over ontario and with some from Elliot Lake. I remember a good fellow named Albert Grandmaison and another fellow named Julius Tulpinski from Elliot Lake. Can`t remember anyone else by name. Those were good times and the thing that stands out in my mind about Elliot Lake was the cool,clean air and blue sky. A jewel in the wilderness. Thanks for the great web site. Mark Goddard
